Eventually early gunpowder technology will be unlocked by most of the factions. Technology levels also cause the factions to advance with time during the game.
Changes and adds a few more factions as well as adding a ton of new features like a medieval class system, religion, crusades/jihads, technology levels, actual land ownership without being a fief but the coolest is the ability to leave the world map and travel to another continent and establish a colony similar to the early new world explorations. Nova Aetas - Basically takes the current Warband map and lore and puts it into the future by a 400 or 500 years. Also has freelancer/diplomacy integration.ģ. My favorite faction was Maccavia since they have mounted crossbow troops and just look awesome.
For example, if you thought you could roam the countryside and kill legions of bandits from the start, you wouldnt be doing that until you're around level 12 or 15 and even then a group of 30 Demon Worshippers or 20 Eagle Knights could wipe out your entire army no matter how many troops you have, but the rewards pay off, you just have to be careful and pick your fights. Its very challenging though and makes you rethink how you would normally play Mount and Blade Warband. Perisno - Already mentioned, but its also great.
By far my favorite mod and it could easily pass as DLC.Ģ. Also has diplomacy and freelancer integration. Largely bug free (I only ran into one bug and it wasn't game breaking). There are also several hidden surprises and gunpowder is added in replacement of crossbows (which werent heavily used if at all in Japan). all the towns are changed, lords, map icons and even animations. Every original faction is gone and replaced with the Japanese clans complete with traditional Japanese weapons, armor, clothing ,etc. Gekokujo - Changes everything about the game, putting you in feadal Japan during the Sengoku period.
